BKK Food I Missed

This is going to be a short post. I am now craving for the juicy cockles in Bangkok.
 
Lunch at Chinatown in Bangkok, I normally go for either fish ball noodle or pork leg rice. Both are located on the same street. Meal in Bangkok is not cheap too. Average BHT350 - BHT 500 normally. About RM3.50 to RM5.00. 






Pork leg rice with chrysanthemum tea. The chrysanthemum tea is rather sweet though.
 



The salted crabs, crab from paddy field. It's called poo naa in Thai, it is used for som tum pbooh salad - mix with green papaya, long bean, fish sauce, chili, etc.




Sibu has it too, salty type. Thai's version is sweet because they add sugar too.




The juicy cockles I missed




This is the dinner I had normally in Bangkok. Steamed cockles and one plate of green vegetables. I can finish all by myself.

Delicious Pork Congee at Hua Lamphong, Bangkok

I can't elicit clearly the location of this shop at Hua Lamphong area. The only thing I know it's inside a junction opposite the temple entrance. I was accidentally found this place one time when I walked my way to Chinatown from Hua Lamphong MRT station.

I don't normally take congee, but congee is always a good choice for breakfast. This pork congee is smooth, with sprinkle of ginger and spring onions. I really like it. I tried to go there again for few times after that, but it was closed every time I reached there. So I only had one time luck to have it. Guess they sold out before 11am. Point to add, they provide tea for free. Those who stays at Hua Lamphong, should give it a try.

Pratunam Kuang Heng Chicken Rice in Bangkok

I traveled Bangkok frequent for sourcing stock. And I'm going to share with you my must-have food in Bangkok: Hainanese Chicken Rice. You may think it's not as good as those in Singapore or Malasysia. But for me, it's heavenly tasty good!





There's one well-known chicken rice located at Pratunam. It becomes tourist's must-have food list when visiting Bangkok. They name it "Pink Shirt Chicken Rice" just because the staffs are wearing striking pink shirts. I googled, the actual name is "Kaiton Khao Mun Kai". Khao Mun Kai is chicken rice in Thai. Usually the place is full during lunch and dinner. Therefore I swing to the "Green Shirt Chicken Rice" (Kuang Heng) which is equally good taste to me too.



Kuang Heng Chicken Rice is the "Green Shirt Chicken Rice" which located adjacent to Kaiton, on the same road but different block. The portion is pitifully 'small' to me, even though I ask for 'extra' which costs 50 Baht. But never seems enough to fill up my stomach. Usually I would order 'Coca Cola' in bottle, something that can fill up the gap after chicken rice.

Thailand as one of the rice production countries, the rice is fragrant and tastes good. The chicken tastes tenderly soft but the most important ingredient is the spicy sauce. Slurp!
