K.Y. Cafe 嘉远茶餐厅 @ Jalan Sekama, Kuching

Location: Jalan Sekama (Opposite Rasa Sayang Night Club)

This cafe operates day and night time. Not sure when is their off day. I used to visit this cafe for kolo mee or kueh chap with my bro at night time. Had not been there for quite sometime until recently I invited my friend to have kolo mee for dinner.

I have to say both taukes are very friendly and polite. Though this is common practice. But I don't usually encounter polite taukes who will say thank you to you after payment.

My kolo mee was served with 'red' (char siew oil). Though I requested not to add 'red', perhaps almost every customer request for it so they forgot my request. After a long time of not having their kolo mee, I was rather disappointed with the taste. I found the noodles was overdone. For me, a good taste of kolo mee should be half done (or it should be 60% or 70% done) which at least to give you a chewy sensation. Nevertheless the serving portion is big and they provide soup as well.

Other than kolo mee, they sell kueh chap, pork porridge and fish ball bean curd soup too. Oh yeah, their kueh chap is also nice. Worth to have a try.

Riverfront Inn Restorant, Bintulu

Address: 256, Taman Sri Dagang, 97000 Bintulu, Sarawak

You may be new to Bintulu. Bintulu is a small town, located between Sibu and Miri. I grown up here and today let me share with you one of my favourite restaurants/food in my hometown. Those frequent travellers to this town should be familiar with a few popular food here.

Riverfront Inn has an attached restaurant. Their food quality always maintained the same (at least it was still the same old good taste on my last visit). If you are unsure what to order, club sandwich and rojak are the must-have.

This is umai. I quite like this dish too.

Rojak with peanut shreds

My favourite club sandwich. Slurp!

Chok Kar Chong Cafe 粥家庄

Location: Tabuan Jaya, 93350 Kuching, Sarawak (behind C121 Food Station)

Some days you may want to have something light and soupy, porridge will always be the best choice. Chok Kar Chong Cafe is located somewhere behind C121 coffee shop, area within Statuong wet market. This is my first visit to Chok Kar Chong, surprisingly they have wide variety and I took sometime to decide. To be safe, I ordered their signature dish, Zhu Chap Moi (pork intestine is my preference for porridge) and my friend had the minced meat porridge.

Be spoilt for choice! I would like to try their Fish Head Bihun and Lou Shu Fun next time.

My Zhu Chap Moi looks ordinary when served. I asked the waiter what's the difference between porridge and moi. As explained by him, moi is more watery and clear, while porridge is thicker.

This is my favourite. The portion is ideal size for one. I ordered century egg to go with my moi. Without it, I feel like something is missing.

My friend's minced meat porridge. After tasted, she prefers Min Feng Hao's minced meat congee. But I guess her porridge would taste better with peanuts.

Overall, I quite like their moi. As personal preference, I like the porridge with clearer soup. Next time I would like to try their Lou Shu Fan. It looks appealing in the menu.

Susan's Bistro @ Bandar Mahkota Cheras

Address: 6, Jalan Temengung 3/9, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, 43200 Kajang, Selangor
Tel: 03-9010 4588

Used Google to search any nice Western food in Cheras and Susan's Bistro appeared few times in the list. At first I was quite hesitated as the facade of the restaurant looked quite 'old' fashioned. But since the reviews were good, decided to give it a try.

Caesar salad, tastes ordinary. But I quite like it.

Mushroom soup, I love this soup despite others think it's just mediocre. Soup is creamy and thick.

Grilled salmon

My chicken chop

Our Tiramisu dessert.. very nice!

Hope I will have chance to visit Susan's Bistro again as I am keen to try their escargot, pizza, pasta and creme Brulee!

Throwback: Day 3 Prague (Petrin Observation Tower & Nebozizek Restaurant)

The next morning I went to McD for breakfast. The breakfast menu is quite similar to the McD Malaysia, especially the muffin burger.

Wenceslas Square is just located a few steps away from McD restaurant. Wenceslas Monument and main building of National Museum.

I have got to know Bata shoes since young in Malaysia and always thought it is established in Malaysia until I visited Czech Republic then I only got to know that Bata is actually originated from Czech Republic.

On my way to Petrin Observation Tower. I used the bridge before Charles Bridge. Charles Bridge is on my right hand side.

Getting the funicular railway ticket from the machines.

The ticket looks like this.

View of Praha from Petrin Observation Tower.

On the way down to railway station, I stopped by Nebozizek Restaurant for dinner. As I could enjoy the nice view and food at the same time.

Had orange juice and mushroom risotto. First time had risotto. Not my preference at all.

After early dinner at Nebozizek Restaurant, spent my evening time strolling around the city.
