Another notable place to visit in Johor Bahru is Salahuddin Bakery at Jalan Dhoby, just within the neighborhood area with Hiap Joo and Hua Mui. This bakery looks very 'antique', it's very rare to see this mosaic floor now.
What is famous at Salahuddin Bakery? Its Karipap aka curry puff. The shape of curry puff from Salahuddin Bakery is different, it's in triangle shape. Aside Karipap, they also have buns and cookies.
The famous Karipap Daging RM1.70. I thought it's beef fillings, it's mutton actually.
I kept the karipaps until the next morning for breakfast.
The sugar coated pastry attracted me so I bought it as well. But this would taste a lot nicer when served hot. The crispiness is a lot deteriorated over the night.
The layered crust is noticeable. Again, this would taste nicer while hot. After a night, the crust was not crispy enough, rather dry and hard.
I bought one Karipap Ayam and Karipap Daging. Karipap Daging tastes nicer compared to chicken meat.
