About Kuching

Kuching is a city of cat. Why cat? You may have the doubt. The pronounciation of Kuching is the same as kucing, meaning cat in Malay word. You will see a lot of cat statues in this city. Being the capital city of Sarawak state, there are some attractions here that worth to note. But what I like most of this city is the local food. This post I am going to load pictures of Kuching city. Pictures have better attraction than the words.

Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building, you can cruise along the Sarawak River from Waterfront by using river taxi to commute across the Sarawak River or Sarawak River Cruise which provides scenic cruises at a certain cost.

General Post Office Kuching, this beautiful neoclassical style of building is constructed by order of Rajah Charles Vyner Brooke. Completed in 1932.

Hiang Thian Siang Ti Temple at Cartenper Street. There are another two temples located at the end of junction which I didn't manage to take photos. In Kuching, you can see a lot of Chinese temples here and the buildings are well-maintained.




This is part of the Kuching city introduction. A brief introduction indeed. But there's one very happening event to take note is the Rainforest World Music Festival at Sarawak Cultural Village. It is an annual three-day music festival celebrating the diversity of world music, normally available in July every year. For more information, please visit its official website: http://rwmf.net/.
