Coffee Clinic, Kuching

Address: Ground Floor, Sublot 16, Song Plaza, Off Jalan Tun Jugah/Jalan Song, Kuching

Coffee Clinic is another popular place to host gatherings in Kuching as its attractive interior design and nice ambient. Price of beverages ranging from RM6.50 to RM12.00. I can't remember I ever ordered coffee at Coffee Clinic but I quite like their cheese mille crepe. The cheese aroma is thick and its slice portion is bigger as compared to others.

Their serving is quite fast and friendly. However, It will be quite tough to find a seat during 8.30 - 10pm due to capacity limitation. So we will normally swing to Cupbella which located behind Coffee Clinic.

Char Siu Rice at Restoran Uncle Meng, Cheras

Location: Jalan 6/91, Taman Shamelin, Cheras, 56100 Kuala Lumpur

I stayed at Cheras in November so usually hunt food around Cheras area too. Googled nice food in Cheras and this is what I found from other food bloggers with high recommendation: Uncle Meng's Char Siu. We couldn't spot Uncle Meng's signboard until we made the second round of searching.

We ordered roast pork and char siu. I always have zero resistance to roast pork. Normally I will check if the roast pork is lean or fat before ordering. Uncle Meng's roast pork looked very appetizing.

The char siu is nice. The texture is soft and tender. I'm not into char siu actually but I quite like this (surprisingly). Though the meat texture is soft but the fattiness is equally 'generous'. We felt quite 'sick' due to its greasiness. Haaaha.. But overall we both enjoyed the char siu and roast pork.

Dumplings @ Hui Sing Hawker Center 粽皇

Location: Hui Sing Hawker Center 辉盛小贩中心
Business hours: They will open around 4.30 - 5pm, please call to confirm: 012-8830101

Sometimes I will crave for rice dumplings. Though mum's dumplings always my favourite, I prefer meat in small chunky size rather than mince meat, and with lots of mushroom bits. These days she refused to make it because of the tedious process. So I have a few alternatives in my list. The dumplings at Hui Sing Hawker Center is one of them. Their dumplings are quite famous because of their special ingredient: yam paste, and also its size is larger than a fist size.

If not mistaken, they have 3 types of dumplings with different ingredients. Normally I'll go for yam paste. Price wise, it's reasonable.

Earthlings Coffee Workshop

Location: CityONE Megamall, Jalan Song, Kuching
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EarthlingsCoffee

If you are coffee lover, you may not want to miss Earthlings's coffee. They roast their own coffee beans and the aroma is thick enough. Thick caffeine to an extent that I had sleeping difficulty after a cup of cappuccino!

Earthlings are located outside CityONE Megamall, which is not accessible inside the mall. Its side is facing Brighton Square.

Cha Kueh at Kenyalang Hawker Stalls

Address: Jalan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong, Kampung Kenyalang Park, 93300 Kuching, Sarawak

During my college time, my friends and I always patronized this cha kueh stall. It's different from other cha kueh stall because of its crispiness and egg aroma is much better. I have no interest to try cha kueh elsewhere since then. Cha kueh has two different types, sweet and salty. I normally go for salty taste. But the sweet cha kueh also tasted not bad too.

Cha Kueh with Egg (Salty) and Sweet Cha Kueh. Thumbs-up!

Throwback: Day 2 Prague (Na příkopě)

Second day in Prague, instead of going sightseeing. I decided to have a relaxing day by strolling around the city, doing some window shopping. Even bought a pair of shoes from New Yorker.

In front from here is Wenceslas Square. Direction to National Museum.

There is a hypermarket nearby my hostel. Did some grocery for dinner. Rosemary hostel's kitchen is fully equipped. So if you have shoestring budget, you can opt to cook.

My dinner.. except Lee Fah Mee which is brought by myself from Malaysia. Button mushroom and coke light are always my favourite. Bought a can of beer too.

New Shoes from New Yorker. Striking pink colour with blue shoe lace. The cheapest I could find in the store. But not comfortable to wear, threw it away on the last day of my trip. Sigh.. what a waste.

Throwback: Day 1 Prague (Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle)

Walking out from my hostel. Turning right, this is the building in front of me. Walking straight and going left, heading to Old Town Square. The must visit landmark in Prague, The Astronomical Clock.

I bought a ticket to access the top of Astronomical Clock Tower. No lift, only staircase. Admission fee is 100 KCz for adult (USD5).

Every building block has its own uniqueness.

Passed by the souvenirs shop, saw this beautiful Russian Nesting Dolls displayed on shelf. Didn't buy any souvenirs, as the price was not so adorable.

I was starved.. You can notice that I didn't have any food intake since the soup. This is the first meal I had in Prague: TRDLO 50 Euro. It's actually cinnamon roll sugar coated. Very nice indeed! And the recent trip to KL, I found it in Pavilion food court too. Will blog about it next time.

The plaque on the statue of John of Nepomuk has been polished to a shine by countless tourists. There's a saying, by touching the falling priest on the plague will bring good luck and ensure your return to Prague.
