There is a stall behind Fu Sen Court at Hui Sing (next to Petronas Station) selling steamed bun made of pumpkin. And it is certainly fresh because they make it on the spot. They have different types of ingredient, cha sao bun, braised meat, chicken, pork, vegetable, red bean, butter, kaya, peanut butter and pumpkin. Not only steamed buns, they do have other kuih muih like fried yam cake, dumplings, siobee, etc.
Placing a soup spoon to show you the size of the bun.
I am fond of their meat buns because it contains a quarter of egg. And, it is only RM1.60.
Instead of getting buns from bakery stores at RM3 (at least) each, why not consider to get this? Healthy, big bun and cheap. Oh yeah, it tastes great too!

Coffee Obsession @ Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce Road, Kuching
Address: Suite 29, Kueh Hock Kui Commercial Centre, Lorong Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce 18, 93150 Kuching, Sarawak.
Tel: (017) 222 2885

I have been to Coffee Obsession 4 times until to-date. Wanted to blog about it but too many blog entries to choose from. Plus, I would like to try more of their food before I blog it to public. So far, I have tried their apple pie, chicken pie, Turkey quiche, bread pudding, spaghetti pudding and Creme Brulee. Haven't try their sandwich though.
The cafe is located on first floor. I was quite surprised with their location, the area is quite commercial for office. It is not difficult to locate it, adjacent to Bata building, and next is Cat City Holidays travel agency.
I think they did the fittings and furniture themselves. My eyes fix at every corner, very impressive. I like their creativity with the chairs, tables, bookshelf and hand wash sink with old bicycle.
Variety of desserts and three types of pie / quiche. The egg tart is huge, costs only RM2. The pies and quiches taste really good too.
This is the cake named after their own. The bottom layer is red bean actually, middle layer is tiramisu. I quite like the combination. But the sweetness should be reduced.
Rose with French Vanilla tea. This is my favourite. If you like tea and rose, try this. I bet you would love it too. The cup is BIG and it is only RM8, hot water refill is free. The waiters and the boss, John are very friendly and observant, they would come to ask when your cup is empty. Their customer service is remarkably good.
Hawaiian Latte, my friend's order.
I had cappuccino on my third visit.
Creme Brulee. One of my favourites at Coffee Obsession.
Turkey Quiche. Aw.. this one is awesomely taste good too.
Chicken pie. The crust is neither too hard or soft. Just right. The content has generous ingredients too.
Bread pudding. Ok, on my next visit, I would want to have this again. I don't mind to rotate having the desserts I have tried since it tastes so good.
This is spaghetti pudding. By the name of it, you might have hesitation to try it. But its taste is not that awkward. Trust me.
I think we are spoiled with choice of cafe now in Kuching. Though too many choices, I still prefer to hang out at the place which price is lower (price conscious). At Coffee Obsession, I can spend RM8 for tea and RM6 for a Turkey quiche.

Seoul Bing Cafe PV128 @ Setapak, Kuala Lumpur
Address: G-46, Platinum PV128, 128, Jalan Genting Klang, Setapak, 53300 Kuala Lumpur
After the dinner at De Pastry Chef on the first floor, I tempted to try the bingsu at the Korean Dessert Cafe. The interior design looks impressive.
The menu for bingsu dessert is very limited, 6 flavours: Injeolmi, Blue Berry Cheese, Mango Cheese, Black Sesame Seeds, Berry Yogurt and Milk Pat. Hmm, as we were still very full, could only have one to share so I chose Milk Pat. The portion is actually "enormous". Though the girl at counter said the portion is enough for two persons to share, I think it's more than enough for three to share. Well, of course the great portion comes with higher price too. A bowl of this Milk Pat Bingsu priced RM18.50 (price after GST, RM19.61), can you imagine one person averagely RM10 for this dessert? Hmm.. yet the ingredients only ice, peanut powder, almond flakes, red beans and 4 pieces of the glutinous rice balls.
Here comes the Milk Pat Bingsu. As the name given, I thought its content should rich with milk taste. But no trace of milk in the dessert.
My friend criticised max about the red beans. She said the texture is too hard. As she is allergic to peanut, I had to finish the whole bowl myself. She could only dig the plain ice to taste a few bites. The whole bowl is full of peanut powder, as it reminds me of the dry peanut tangyuan 汤圆.
However, I have to give some credit to its smooth shaved ice. Perhaps we chose the wrong toppings, I guess Mango Cheese would taste better than Milk Pat?

De Pastry Chef @ PV128, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur
Address: Lot 1-7 PV128, Jalan Genting Klang, Setapak, 53300 Kuala Lumpur
Tel: 03-4141 8826
On my birthday, my friend brought me to a cafe located on the first floor at PV128. She looked so excited when telling me how good taste the cakes was. As I walked in the cafe, somehow you can tell the expected price range based on their interior design. They serve variety of cakes and pastries, and you would have good time to browse the chiller and decide which one to have. You might end up ordering at least two types of cake. As the interior design is just too plain and ordinary, so I didn't take any picture except the food and cakes we ordered.
As the venue was booked for birthday party celebration, we had to dine outside of the cafe. We asked if we have to wait long for the food to be served, as the group of guests attended the birthday party was quite large. The girl said it is not affected. The seats outside the cafe also quite limited. Majority of patrons is college students.
We chose two cakes, one Mango Yogurt Cheesecake and one German Cheesecake. Both tastes good, it melts fast. I couldn't finish the German cheese, it tasted awful when it turned not cold.
Mango Yogurt Cheesecake (RM8.00)
German Cheesecake (RM7.50)
We actually took sometime to choose our main dish. As the food variety is really attractive, I was in dilemma to choose between two dishes I would like to have. For drinks, without hesitation, I ordered lemongrass honey (RM5.50). But it was a bad choice. They used teabag, the lemongrass aroma was very light.
My friend had Tempura Fish N Chip (RM11.00). The fish fillet looks so 'dark' in colour. Friend said it tastes alright but not worth to mention.
I had Portuguese Chicken Chop Linguini (RM9.00). Looks yummy, the portion is pretty generous too. First bite was great, the creamy taste was very rich, until the bottom I struggled and stopped taking it when I saw the oil floating on top.
Total bill summed up RM47 (included 6% GST) for two pax. Price very reasonable indeed.

Jal Dae Ji Korean BBQ Restaurant @ Korean Village Ampang, KL

My friends wanted to bring me to try out a Korean restaurant at Korean Village in Ampang. Unfortunately it was not open on Sunday. Instead of wasting time to spin another area for food, we decided to choose any one within the area. Walked and browsed two blocks of building, my friend pushed the decision to me. Okay, I saw a shop appeals attractive to me with a giant smiling face of decorative figure on the column.
The environment is quite cozy and the workers are friendly.
We chose the marinated meat, as it is more tasty. One plate of marinated 3 layer pork meat and one plate of marinated chicken. Friend also ordered Budae Jjigae.
We waited for a while, were thinking why they didn't serve us the side dishes. Normally if you dine at Korean restaurant, they will serve you many small side dishes, at least 5 different dishes. After sometime, finally the waiter placed it one by one in front of us. After we finished all of it, the waiter removed and replaced all the side dishes for us again. I have to say their service is good.
I thought we would have to BBQ the pork and chicken meat ourselves. But I was wrong, the worker has barbequed for us and we don't have to make ourselves stinky with the BBQ smoke. The chicken meat taste good but not exceptionally good like the 3-layer pork meat.
Three of us loved this 3 layer pork very much. The meat is thinly sliced. I observed the way they barbequed it, they were very discreet with the temperature. I saw the worker used a temperature gun to monitor the heat. The pork meat is perfectly well done, neither too hard and too soft. Very juicy.
Budae Jjigae. My friend once had this Budae Jjingae at other Korean restaurant. She said she missed the taste so she ordered this one. The portion is so huge. I wish this is available in Kuching too. The stew gets thicker and more tastier after sometime. We finished it all, very contented. Not too spicy and the ingredients are very generous, hotdogs, fish cakes, bean curbs, kimchi, ramen noodles. Thumbs up!
This is my first time been to Korean Village. After the heavy lunch, we walked around the area. There are a number of Korean mini marts selling assorted products imported from Korea. Quite interesting. My friend bought a toothpaste from one of the Korean marts. Costs more than RM20 per tube. She was quite shocked when the amount displayed on the cash register screen.

Acme Bar & Coffee @ The Troika, Kuala Lumpur
Address: No. 19, Ground Floor, the Troika, Jalan Persiaran KLCC, 50450 Kuala Lumpur

I didn't realise my blog was down until my beloved friend from Japan mentioned it in her email. Two weeks ago, I switched my domain to another registrar. I forgot I have to do the DNS settings in the new account. I thought it's automatically done since the domain transfer is successful. Silly me..
Back to the topic. My friend in KL brought me to ABC. At first, I thought ABC as the "Ais Batu Campur" (a kind of ice desserts in Malaysia) I know of. She made phone call for reservation at 3pm. She claimed this place is very popular, it could be a long wait if you didn't make any reservation. When we arrived at the destination, this place is actually located at an office building.
Excellent view from my seat, the KLCC.
Their Menus
Cappuccino RM15.90
Mango Pistachio Roulade RM15.90
Sizzling Brownie & Oreo Ice Cream RM20.14. This is the one my friend highly recommended. Slurp! The waiter poured the chocolate sauce on top of the ice cream slowly, the hot plate started burbling with smoke. I like it, the whole presentation makes it a unique selling point.
The above stated price has included GST. Three of us, total bill amounting RM96.80, inclusive of 10% service charge.

Restoran Makanan Laut Lau Heong 蒥香海鲜饭店, Kuala Lumpur
Address: 43A-0-9, Jalan 3/48A, Sentul Perdana, Bandar Baru Sentul, 51000 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel: 03-40427857
I visited KL again last month. My friend introduced and brought me to three places which I had not been to. So I gonna start with the dinner I had at Lau Heong first. For those in KL, should be familiar with Lau Heong. My friend highly recommended to me its fried chicken wing and squid dish. As they are famous, friend advised we have to be there earlier before 6pm, as the crowd will come after 6pm.
The owner has been interviewed by many TV shows and media press.
Here is their business hours.
Thin French Beans with Salted Egg RM10. I like this french beans dish. Didn't know it matches so well with salted egg.. Tastes really good.
Squids Thai Style RM16. In the bill, it stated 泰式 sotong. Quite unique taste. It is creamy.. but not like butter cream that I used to have. It is more like soy sauce with cream. My friend said it's one of their signature dish.
Superior Clam Soup 上汤蝲蝲 RM20. I ever had this soup at Jalan Alor. But this one is not as spicy. I would prefer Lau Heong's version, can really taste the fragrance of wine.
Fried Chicken Wings (6 pcs) RM19.20. Here comes the famous chicken wings. My friend said every table surely will has this chicken wings. She didn't bluff me. Look at this golden wings.. The colour of it already so "mouth-watering". Its outer is so crisply crunchy. But.... this is not up to my personal liking yet. I found it salty. I would say it is very well marinated with red fermented beancurd 南乳, that makes it tasty. But the aroma of red fermented beancurd has over covered the original taste of chicken. So after one piece, I didn't feel like continue. Reluctantly finished my second piece.
Too bad, we were still full that time. Otherwise I would like to try their claypot curry too. I noticed every table has it too, and they consumed the curry completely without a drip of the soup in the claypot. I doubt if I would ever have the chance to go back there again in the future. Hmm.. Let's see.
Despite Lau Heong has so many tables available, inside and upstairs of its own shop-lot, even outside extended to their neighbours' walkway but there are still so many family waiting to be seated. A lady came to ask how long is the wait. The guy answered at least a hour. So better be early or late, or just wait if you are not too hungry yet.
