Pudu Glutton Street Night Market 半山芭為食街 @Pudu, Kuala Lumpur

Address: Jalan Sayur, Pudu, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
Business hours: Monday - Sunday 5:00pm - 11:00pm

Visited this night market last month. Located at Pudu, we took a Grab car to get here.  We got there around 5:40pm. Many stalls were still closed. We planned to try out the Tai Bu Mee, unfortunately it was not open that day.

This fried chicken 四眼仔炸鸡 stall is famous. We bought chicken wings, chicken feet and bishop nose to try.

We were disappointed with its taste. Probably it had turned cold when served? Nothing to brag about. We have much decent fried chicken wings than this in Kuching.

This porridge was really plain. Not tasty and zero impression. Not worth to pay for.

Apam balik is also in our pocket list. The stall owner was just arrived to start business when we were having our fried chicken and porridge. My friend asked me, one piece at RM1.50, is it the whole big piece or cut into small piece. In Kuching, you can get RM3 for the whole big piece. I thought my friend brought me the news that the whole piece only RM1.50.  We both were excitedly waiting for this. And soon we got disappointed when the small piece was handed to us. The taste wise, we were really disappointed. The apam balik was not aromatic, plain and tasteless because no margarine was used.  It may be the healthier version of apam balik but seriously...  apam balik without Planta margarine, will that entice you buy?

I would like to try out the Tai Bu Mee next time. It looks like Kuching kolo mee, with char siew and minced meat on top. Another one which I would be interested to try is the sup kambing (mutton soup).

Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee 建記辣椒板麵 @Lot 10 Hutong 十號胡同, Kuala Lumpur

Recent trip to KL, I brought my friend to try out my favourite food in KL, Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee at Chow Kit. Obviously she enjoyed it as well.

If you are lazy to mobilise, tell you a good news. It's available at Lot 10 Hutong now. I have no idea when they set up at stall here. I accidentally found it when I entered the food court through the other entrance which I hardly used.

Lot 10 Hutong is like a maze. This section which Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee located is quite hidden.

The stall is manned by foreign workers without the owner's supervision. So the quality is different from the main branch. The noodle and the soup were not steamily hot. I still prefer the noodle texture by the main branch.

Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa 徳普路真善美砂煲叻沙 @Alexandra Village Food Centre, Singapore

Address: Alexandra Village Food Centre, 120 Bukit Merah Lane 1, #0-75 Singapore 151120
Business hours: Monday - Saturday 9:00am - 4:00pm, closed on Sunday

Last month, travelled to Singapore for a day to visit my friend. She brought me this place for claypot laksa. I had been reluctantly taking laksa for sometime. Especially having laksa in the morning is really too heavy for me.

When it was my turn, I learnt that the stall is one of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Award Winners. Small bowl S$4, medium bowl S$5, and big bowl S$6. Extra noodle / gravy, charge $0.50. Additional ingredients chicken / fish cake / tau pok / prawn, extra charge S$1 and cockle, charge S$2.  It stated "our laksa is spicy".

I ordered the medium size S$5. And, it was really spicy. The gravy was thick and flavourful. The ingredients portion was pretty generous. However, after a few scoops I hardly could finish it.

My friend ordered this seafood soup from 炎記海鲜湯. The soup base was also flavourful, it was really tasty and the prawn was fresh. But. Its taste is unforgettably thick, it will be good to have it once in a while.

My friend's husband ordered this plate from Lau Phua Chay Authentic Roasted Delicacies 老半齋燒臘. The dark sauce is a good match to the meat, it's sweet though. The meat was surprisingly tender.

Foochow Gong Pia 福州光餅 @Hak Ek Trading 合益饼家, Bintulu

Address: Lot G, 212, Jalan Masjid, Pusat Taman Sri Dagang, Shahida Commercial Centre, 97000 Bintulu, Sarawak.

There are many Foochow in Bintulu, if not mistaken there are only two shops selling gong pia. This is one that has longer history and we have patronized it since kids. The size of gong pia was also getting smaller throughout the years. Nevertheless it is still delicious when it's freshly out of oven. Crunchy skin and full of sesame aroma.

Last time, it was RM0.20 per piece. Now 3 pieces at RM1.

They also sell variety of pastries.

Bintulu Google map is incomplete. Hak Ek Trading is located at same block with Ming Hung Cafe.

Kampua @98 Kopitiam 98茶室, Bintulu, Sarawak

Address: 198B, Jalan Kambar Bubin, 97000 Bintulu, Sarawak
Business hours: 5:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Sunday

Kampua is typical breakfast dish for Foochow. My dad brought me here for breakfast, this place served only kampua noodles. Apparently it is famous because the shop was crowded.

The kampua is full of lard aroma. Despite I got bored of having kampua for continuously two days, I still found this delicious.

My dad usually ordered a big bowl of pork liver soup to go with kampua.
